
BIOGRAPHY OF ACTING HOD SOCIOLOGYMOHAMMED MUSON YELWA
Born on 4th April 1972 in Yelwa village in Lapai LGA, Niger State. Attended LEA Primary School Yelwa in 1979-1983, Government Secondary School Gwagwalada FCTA 1983-1988. For University education, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1992- 1999, B. A. (Ed) Sociology, University of Calabar, Cross River State Masters in Public Administration (MPA), University of Abuja, M. Sc. Sociology (Industrial Sociology) 2014 and University of Abuja Ph.D. Sociology (Industrial Sociology) in 2018. Joined the services of Al-Qalam University Katsina, on 1st January, 2019 and subsequently appointed Ag. HOD Sociology on December 2nd 2019.

VISION
To train and graduate students who are well-grounded in sociological reasoning, with skills to upsurge manpower, shrink the level of unemployment and social problems, provide conducive social environment needed for positive social change and societal engineering.
MISSION
To provide sound sociologically oriented theoretical and analytical tools, expose students to analytical skills acquisition for job opportunities with decent remuneration.

ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology has launched a biannual Journal which will be published in June and December every year. Al-Qalam Journal of Sociology and Anthropological Studies is a peer-reviewed Journal that seeks high quality contributions, book review, empirical or theoretical papers from Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science and Humanities.
