A four member team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) has arrived Al-Qalam University to assess the quality of the B.A. (Ed) in English language been offered by the University.
Speaking at a meeting with the University Management on Thursday, 1st June 2017, the leader of the team, Professor Fatima Mohammed Umar explained that the mission of the team is to assess the facilities available at the University for the running of the academic programme.
She said the team would also look at other areas such as staff strength, suitability of the students undertaking the programme, relevant books at the library as well as interact with staff and some students of the department.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor Al-Qalam University, Professor Shehu G. Ado stated that the University has been anxiously looking forward to the accreditation exercise assuring that the management has worked hard to see that it complied with the standards set by the National Universities Commission in running all its undergraduate programmes.
Members of the accreditation team which is expected to finish its assignment on Saturday, 3rd June, 2017 are Professor Gbenga Ibileye, Professor Chinwe Modumogu and Mrs Zainab Mohammed who is the Secretary.
